SOFTWARE LOCALIZATION
mARKETING LOCALIZATION
Why should you localise your website?

We are all living in a globalised market, whether we like it or not. The Internet is a door opening onto the world, and your website is your own special key.

We believe there are seven good reasons for translating and localising your website:

  1. To enter the great internet race
In 2006, the total volume of online transactions should reach US$10,000bn.
Top managers world wide acknowledge that the Internet plays a strategic role in their companies’ survival and continuing competitiveness.
We all need to get a piece of the action.
  2. To pull down geographical barriers
Your website allows you to present your company, to advertise and sell your products and services, and to develop contracts with new partners and suppliers.
However, if your website is available in just one language, how many people will be able to understand your messages or establish commercial relations with you?
Pull down geographical and linguistic barriers, and place yourself in the globalisation firing line with a multilingual website!
  3. To reach beyond English-speaking nations
90% of the world’s population speaks a language other than English, and the internet’s growing dissemination is increasingly reducing the percentage of users that speak this language.
To date, over 400m users (63% of the online population) speak languages other than English, and around 100m of these users search the web in their native alone.
By the end of 2006, 60% of all online transactions are expected to occur in languages other than English.
This will result in greater competition from websites produced or translated and localised in local languages.
  4. To seize the opportunities provided by emerging markets
Economic globalisation and the growth experienced by emerging markets and transition economies have already allowed many companies of all types and sizes to tackle new potential markets, where there exists demand for their products and services or where suppliers are available at particularly advantageous conditions. On the Internet you’ll always find someone who’s looking for what you’re offering, or who can supply what you’re looking for. Effective communication with these people is of strategic importance for any company looking to the future.
  5. To optimise website performance
Most users prefer Internet websites to be produced in their own native tongue, particularly where the online purchase of products or services is concerned. Localising websites in a series of languages will allow you to reach a wider user-base, promoting the sale of your products and the establishment of new contacts. Web users are up to four times more likely to make purchases when addressed in their native language, and site stickiness is doubled when a web site is translated - visitors stay for twice as long (source: Forrester Research).
  6. To cut costs
Consider each language version of your website as a local company branch.
Reduce executive and staff costs and maintain direct control over your business, even whenever you are dealing with customers or suppliers located thousands of miles away from your office. This way you may focus your investments on customer services, on improving and optimising work flows and on offering your customers a more advantageous cost-quality ratio. Increase your earnings by saving and increasing your business scope.
  7. To keep up with the competition
Up to a few short years ago, only the most cutting-edge companies would assess the benefits of producing a website. Today, your competitors are already tackling new markets, and foreign companies are already starting to carve out slices of your local market for themselves through their multilingual websites. You may believe that the quality of your products and services can withstand this phenomenon, but have you carefully considered the inevitable loss of image you will suffer from being regarded as being behind the times?

In a globalised market such as our, companies must present their messages, products and services in the appropriate language and in a suitable cultural context. Our company possesses all the means to contribute to your international success.

The best choices needn’t always be the most expensive!
